Since March 13, 2020, we have worked hard to keep music alive, and our families safe. We didn't stop with just going 100% virtual.
When it was time to add in-person lessons, we developed a system to limit exposure, limit school indoor traffic, and maintain a clean and continually disinfected space, in addition to masks and face shields. We also joined a forward-thinking group of music schools that promised to meet or exceed safety standards, to protect our student families, and keep music alive. We are now certified as a safe music school.
We ask your patience, should you decide on hybrid (half in person, half online) lessons. We are asking visitors with any symptoms, including cold or flu symptoms, or fever, to remain at home, until well.
We also ask the following of all BSMA visitors:
> All visitors are scheduled - No unscheduled visitors at this time
> Masks must be securely worn.
>Temperatures taken upon entering. Those with fever will be sent home immediately until well.
>Those exhibiting cough, sniffles, or other Covid type symptoms, will be sent home until well.
>All visitors to complete and a Covid questionnaire, sent by our team, 24 hours prior to each visit.
We are passionate about keeping music alive. In these times, it takes more than a village - it takes all of us. Thank you for doing your part.
Yours in music,
The Boston School of Music Arts is a year round music school, offering music lessons and classes in Dorchester and Milton, MA. You will find private: Voice lessons, Piano lessons, Guitar lessons, Violin lessons, Drum lessons, Bass Guitar lessons, Saxophone, Trumpet lessons, Clarinet, Flute, Viola, Cello, Trombone, Accordion, Ukulele, and more.
The School was established in 2010, in the eclectic and diverse community of Dorchester’s Lower Mills, right near the Milton, MA border.
We are passionate about bringing high-quality music education, inspiration about music, and music performance skills development to as broad a population of children and adults as possible. This is a feeling and intention shared by the entire teaching and administrative staff.
Our teaching rooms are clean and clutter free. We have changed so much about the school physically to exceed safety standards during Covid-19. We have a warm and professional staff, and school community.
The school’s intended purpose, developed by the co-founders in 2005, several years prior to opening, which is to:
IMPROVE LIFE FOR ALL THROUGH MUSIC.
• Help re-awaken goals and dreams in individuals who have become discouraged due to inadequate education in music and other performing arts.
• Encourage people who have dreamed of performing, and to give them the skills and knowledge to realize those dreams.
• Encourage young children who have a recognized, but untapped interest in music and performing arts, to free this interest in a fun, thorough and technically sound, effective way.
• Provide aspiring music professionals and music professionals with the tools, services and support they need to strengthen their art.
With students from Adams Village – Lower Mills – Dorchester, Milton, Mattapan, Hyde Park, Quincy, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Randolph, West Roxbury, Stoughton, and beyond, the Boston School of Music Arts has a wonderful eclectic student and family community.
